The text here is basically the first chapter of 'The Prince and the Pauper' stripped absolutely down to bare essentials. If this were actually a movie, I would insert a couple of exterior shots to make absolutely clear where everyone is - John Canty and his son in a suburban neighbourhood, and King Henry and HIS son in Buckingham Palace.

No, it's not a Josh song, but it's definitely a Tommy song. Even before I thought of this project in connexion with Josh, Tommy was a musician and I knew that's how I had to introduce him... I thought of several different songs to use in this opening, but they weren't fun and upbeat enough and thus said the wrong things about Tommy's character. 'Summer of '69' just worked.

Anyway, I juuust noticed the billboard - 'Jane Grey'! Ha! :) (I have that movie on laserdisk, incidentally - Cary Elwes all impossibly young and slim and remembering to be English)
